Former Styles & Wood bosses win £180,000 employment tribunal

Former Styles & Wood directors Tony Lenehan and Phil Lanigan have been awarded more than £180,000 in compensation between them after winning an employment tribunal against their former employer.

Lenehan (pictured) was chief executive at the time he left last November, while Lanigan, 56, who went at the same time, was the collapsed fit-out contractor’s chief finance officer.

 

Steelcase Teams Up With MIT Researchers To Help Create Safer Workplaces

Steelcase today announces its collaboration with MIT professor and disease transmission specialist Dr. Lydia Bourouiba, director of The Fluid Dynamics of Disease Transmission at MIT to study disease transmission in the workplace. Bourouiba specializes in fluid dynamics and understanding properties of turbulent gas clouds that are produced when people exhale, sneeze or cough and how that spreads respiratory pathogens. The goal of the research is to not only understand how these pathogens spread in typical office layouts, but also to develop design strategies for how to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses at work.

Infinium Interiors acquires the office furniture segment of Senetics of Honolulu

Honolulu-based commercial furniture dealer Infinium Interiors acquired the office furniture segment of Senetics of Honolulu earlier this month and assumed a dealership agreement for Allsteel and Gunlocke brands for the state.

Allsteel specializes in office furniture and Gunlocke is known for its natural wood casework and office furniture. Both have been in the commercial furniture business since the early 1900s.
