After 80 years at the riverfront giant, the furniture company is moving its showroom to a new development in the trendy corridor.

furniture company and longtime tenant in the Mart is leaving the building after eight decades for a new home in the Fulton Market District, following the lead of another prominent furniture maker that recently made the same move.

Herman Miller, which opened its first Mart showroom in 1939, leased an entire mixed-use development planned at 1100 W. Fulton Market, where it will move late next year, the company confirmed.

Sedus Stoll annual sales surpassing € 200 million for the first time

With an annual surplus of €9.8 million, 2018 – just like 2017 – proved to be another successful year for the Sedus Stoll Group. Revenue climbed by 11.1% to €212.3 million (2017: €191.2 million), surpassing the €200 million milestone by a large margin for the first time in its history.

Steelcase says bogus job listings were posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A West Michigan-based furniture company says scammers had impersonated them and posted deceptive job postings on multiple websites.

Steelcase said on Twitter that in some cases, fraudulent job opportunities were offered to obtain money and personal information from people interested in becoming an employee.

HNI Corp report 1st quarter sales down 5.1%

HNI Monday announced sales for the first quarter ended March 30, 2019 of $479.5 million and net income of $1.0 million. GAAP net income per diluted share was $0.02 compared to $0.06 in the prior year.

Non-GAAP net income per diluted share was $0.02 compared to $0.10 in the prior year. “Our first quarter results were as expected. As anticipated, demand conditions generally improved throughout the quarter after a slow start. We were able to offset much of the impact from lower volume with cost savings and productivity. We are pleased with the progress on our initiatives and continue to believe our demand and profit results will improve throughout the year,” said Jeff Lorenger, HNI Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer.
