CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tipperary Sales, a La-Z-Boy home furnishings dealer, appointed Heather Morin as the company’s CFO.
“The Tipperary CFO role is a high-level strategic partnership serving with the CEO and leadership team to further the mission of the company,” said Martha Brown, CEO of Tipperary Sales. “In this role, Ms. Morin will manage financial elements of the company while also collaborating with key executives on initiatives that better support business operations and growth for the next iteration of company success.”
Morin, a CPA, brings more than 20 years of public accounting and consulting expertise to Tipperary. Most recently with the accounting firm, Cherry Bekaert, Morin is a graduate of Augusta University with an MBA and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. Morin will remain in Augusta, working from the company’s business services office.
On Aug. 11, leadership from the project and development teams, La-Z-Boy Midwest and corporate gathered at the 550,000 sq. ft. Neosho campus for the official groundbreaking of massive improvements to the facility.
About a year and a half ago, La-Z-Boy, the Michigan based furniture company that has been in Neosho since 1969, announced the closures of all U.S. manufacturing facilities while furloughing 6,800 employees total, or 70 percent of its global workforce.

NEOSHO, Mo. — Officials with La-Z-Boy Inc. plan on expanding the company’s Neosho plant and will request tax breaks to help pay for the new construction.
The Neosho Board of Education on Monday gave approval for Superintendent Jim Cummins to vote in favor of the tax breaks when the city’s Enhanced Enterprise Zone Committee meets and discusses the matter. That meeting has been set for July 20.
According to documentation from Grow Neosho provided to board members, La-Z-Boy has planned a $29.8 million construction project for its plant at 4301 Howard Bush Drive.
