HNI clears anti-trust review after big Kimball acquisition, but sales fall

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Office and contract furniture giant HNI acquired fellow office furniture leader Kimball early March for $455 million. That transaction has now cleared antitrust review through the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

HNI expects the transaction to close in early June following satisfaction of customary closing conditions and approval by the Kimball shareholders at the special shareholder meeting set for May 31.
