La-Z-Boy holds groundbreaking for two-year, $30 million investment in Neosho campus

On Aug. 11, leadership from the project and development teams, La-Z-Boy Midwest and corporate gathered at the 550,000 sq. ft. Neosho campus for the official groundbreaking of massive improvements to the facility.

About a year and a half ago, La-Z-Boy, the Michigan based furniture company that has been in Neosho since 1969, announced the closures of all U.S. manufacturing facilities while furloughing 6,800 employees total, or 70 percent of its global workforce.

 

 

La-Z-Boy store donates gently used furniture to rescue mission

A local nonprofit has received a major donation.

The La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings store in Asheville donated 60 pieces of gently used furniture to Western Carolina Rescue Mission on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

La-Z-Boy collected that furniture during its biannual trade-in sale.

Cornish office furniture manufacturer MARK Product to build new factory

A manufacturer of office furniture is building a new HQ and factory on the site of an old tin mine in Cornwall.

Contract furniture producer MARK Product’s new base will also house the offices of sister interior design company Hart Miller Design.

Although in a rural setting, MARK Product’s new factory is strategically located at the heart of the firm’s Cornish supply base. Central to the towns of Redruth, Camborne, Helston and Penryn, MARK’s current base, the location ensures most of MARK’s products will only travel a few miles as they progress from raw material to finished furniture.

Leighton Buzzard firm withdraws Millstream Works homes plan, but remains convinced site is best used for housing

A Leighton Buzzard business has withdrawn its outline planning application for up to 146 homes on land at Millstream Works, Mill Road.

Pledge Office Chairs Limited had submitted proposals to Central Bedfordshire Council because it wished to redevelop the site and relocate its business – currently based on Mill Road – to a “more suitable” location in the town.
