Inwerk LAB-3 stages the new office world with flexible structures and innovative furniture

Change is at the top of the agenda for many companies. It is now foreseeable that a not inconsiderable number of office workers will also work on mobile devices beyond Corona. The hybrid working world inevitably leads to considerations to adapt the office layouts accordingly. Real estate economist Andreas Pfnür estimates that 60 percent of office properties will be converted in the next ten years. The Inwerk LAB-3 near Gießen, which opened in January 2021, shows how the upcoming change in companies and the practice of New Work can succeed. The completely new building with an area of 2,500 square meters and an open floor plan consists entirely of Inwerk’s own office furniture and furnishing systems. LAB-3 is an innovation lab and operating location in which Inwerk teams configure their workplaces and all other functional locations themselves, vary and test the use of flexible furniture in order to generate new ideas for productive processes. At the same time, the LAB-3 is an inspiring world of experience for corporate customers and interested parties, who can find transferable design solutions for their companies here. The project, which is unique in the industry, has been given the additional name “Home of New Work”.
