An office furniture company has recovered from a loss to post a pre-tax profit and stable sales despite “another challenging” financial year.

Orangebox was born in the summer of 2002 and its origins lie in the village of Hengoed in South Wales, and with the management buyout of an existing manufacturing business run by Steelcase.

Old Savannah City Mission received a truckload of over 50 donated sofas and chairs from furniture retailer La-Z-Boy on Wednesday morning.

A team of employees and volunteers worked together to unload the lightly used items that would be sold in Old Savannah’s thrift store.

La-Z-Boy sales and earnings fall against strong year-ago comparisons

MONROE, Mich. – Although La-Z-Boy’s sales fell 16% in in the second quarter, they landed on the high end of guidance, spurring the company to up its dividend 10%.

Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 28 totaled $511 million. They were up against a 6% increase in the year-ago quarter, which benefited from delivery of pandemic-related backlog orders. That year-ago comparison rippled across this year’s Q2 results.
