NEW LISKEARD, ONTARIO – Three H furniture company has added James Reese as its new U.S. regional sales director effective Jan. 18.

Reese most recently was the sales director at 9 to 5 Seating, and he has had several years of experience as an independent sales rep for leading furniture brands, including Knoll. He also was the national sales manager for OFS Brands during the growth years for that company.

Muar furniture makers form Covid-19 prevention panel

THE detection of Covid-19 cases at several furniture factories has prompted the Muar Furniture Association (MFA) to set up a prevention committee to deal with the situation.

MFA chairman Steve Ong You Huan said it had met with furniture manufacturers in the Parit Jamil area last week, where they agreed to the setting up of the committee, headed by the association’s internal auditor Chua Boon Long.

 

Export Furniture Exhibition to delay March 2021 show

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Malaysia Furniture Council announced that it will delay the annual upcoming Export Furniture Exhibition.

The event was originally planned for March 10-13 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. However, due to the pandemic, organizers said they will reschedule the event and announce the new dates soon.

National Flammability Standard for Upholstered Furniture to Take Effect in June 2021

Congress has passed a law mandating nationwide compliance with California’s flammability standard for upholstered furniture.  The “COVID-19 Regulatory Relief and Work from Home Safety Act,” included in the massive appropriations bill passed by Congress and signed into law by the President on December 27, 2020, incorporates the provisions previously proposed in the Safer Occupancy Furniture Flammability Act (SOFFA), a bill widely supported by the furniture industry.
