Less can be more when it comes to making greener items. Also, if people were more content and bought better but less, half the problems surrounding eco-friendly production would be solved.

Jane Abernethy, chief sustainability officer of Humanscale, which designs and manufactures ergonomic furniture for the workplace, shared these thoughts on a recent visit to Kuala Lumpur. She had come for the CoreNet PAC Summit, themed “Zoom Out: The Power of Perspective”, which urges leaders to consider the nuances and systemic factors of our global challenges.

Recliner brand La-Z-Boy UK is asking customers to review its products online, and in return the company has pledged to plant trees.

La-Z-Boy UK has signed up to Feefo, the world’s largest verified reviews provider, which will allow potential customers to read online reviews of its products – and the platform’s new sustainability feature, Treefo, means that every time someone leaves feedback, a tree is planted.

Sales fall for MillerKnoll in Q4, but increased orders boost outlook

ZEELAND, Mich. – Office and contract furniture giant MillerKnoll reported $888.9 million in fourth quarter net sales, a 7.1% decline from the same time last year. The company has reported several declines in a row, including an 11% dip last quarter and an 11.4% decline in the second quarter.

Herman Miller has announced that its Fuld Nesting Chair designed by Stefan Diez received the prestigious “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award for Product Design—the international design competition’s top distinction within the office chairs category. The Red Dot jury is made up of 40 international experts who test, discuss, and evaluate each entry individually. Designs are scored based on four qualities of good design: function, seduction, ease of use, and responsibility.
